Psychologist
Dr. Magna Parks-Porterfield is a psychologist who received her Ph.D. in counseling psychology from Ohio State University. She is licensed as a psychologist in both Georgia and Alabama and also has a diploma in nutritional consulting. Dr. Parks-Porterfield taught on the college/university level (University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and Oakwood University) for several years and was also in private practice for thirteen years.
Currently, she is available for counseling through phone, online, or face-to-face (when possible) interaction. In addition, she travels nationally and internationally to conduct mental health seminars. Dr. Parks-Porterfield has experience in treating adults who are dealing with general life adjustment issues, stress management, depression, and anxiety.
She has a passion for helping people by teaching them how to change their thinking, implement lifestyle strategies to enhance mental health, and incorporate principles from positive psychology that can optimize emotional/mental functioning.
